Types of Tea Explained

Major Types of Tea

Most traditional teas come from the same plant, Camellia sinensis. Differences in processing create distinct flavors and styles.

Green Tea
Light and fresh with grassy or vegetal notes.

Black Tea
Fully oxidized, producing a bold and rich flavor.

White Tea
Minimally processed with delicate and subtle flavors.

Oolong Tea
Partially oxidized, offering a balance between green and black tea.

Herbal Tea
Technically not tea because it does not come from the tea plant. Often made from herbs, flowers, or fruits.
