What Is Cold Brew

Cold brew is made by steeping coarse coffee grounds in cold water for an extended period of time. This method produces a smooth and low acidity coffee.

Extra coarse.

Ratio

Cold brew concentrate commonly uses a 1:8 ratio.

Example
100 g coffee
800 g water

Brewing Steps

  1. Combine coffee and water in a large container.

  2. Stir to ensure all grounds are wet.

  3. Cover and steep for 12 to 18 hours.

  4. Filter through a coffee filter or fine mesh strainer.

  5. Dilute with water or milk if desired.
